Pregnant Turkey

I know we haven't even passed Halloween yet but I got this in my email this morning and couldn't stop laughing so I though I would pass it along.

"One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!Yep..................SHE'S BLONDE!"

I felt like I had to add a little something to this post after recieving a comment basically calling MY mother cruel. This turkey story is NOT about my family. It is just one of those emails going around, its more than likely completely fictional and just intended for the humor. It was not meant to "ruffle feathers" in any way.

Knowing how gullible your sister is, you mom sure is cruel. How is that funny? If she knows it will upset your sister tremendously, and as her mother she should know, then that is just mean spirited. Knowing someone will possibly be reduced to tears and it could ruin their holiday ins't my idea of a loving mother.

Don't get me wrong, not saying she is a bad person, just maybe someone needs to give your mom a wake up call on how to treat others.

LOVE that story, I could really imagine maybe one of my kids thinking the same thing! I have had many laughs on your blog today. Great Job and thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us all.
