Bad/Sad news time. First, I went down into my basement this morning to do some laundry and there was water everywhere! I woke up DH (who is working nights so he had only been asleep for 3 hours) and we started trying to figure out where it was coming from. We still don't know, and no one can come out and give us an estimate on fixing it until Saturday. Here is a pic...ignore the dark dank mess... I had piles of laundry seperated all over the floor.
Then later in the day DH's grandmother called to let us know that DH's cousin took his life. I'm not sure why but I do know that he left behind a wife and 3 small children. A three year old son and 5 month old twin daughters. I hate tragedies like these... It really makes you appreciate what you have. On top of all that my parents are set to arrive tomorrow...yikes!
A little cheer to add to all that drear too... Austin learned how to clap tonight. Its the cutest thing! I've got it on video but havent uploaded it yet. Hopefully next week I can show you all

First, let me say "Thank You" for the lovely freebie to match Austin's Plane kit. Cute papers! I feel sorry for you for your flooded basement...Eeekk! What a mess to have to clean up -- and right before your parents arrive!
It is a sad day when someone takes their life..What a tragedy for everyone...especially this man's family. :( Some people may react strangely because (fortunately) they don't have any experience with serious clinical depression. Some may think that it was selfish of him to leave his family. How could he do that when he has children? While it was tragic...in my experience it was NOT a consciously selfish act. This man was in SUCH A DARK PLACE...thankfully most people NEVER go to that place or can even imagine such a place. In his mind, he may have thought he was doing his family a favour to leave them. Of course, this is NOT correct or rational, but that is the point...his thoughts were beyond logic and clear thought. Some people can be brought back from this BLACK HOLE with therapy and medication, but some (men especially) don't always seek out this help or get enough professional help. Perhaps you do not really want to know about this, in which case I am sorry to have commented. However, I do have some experience with this (unfortunately) and thought that I would pass on what I have learned. I hope it helps in some small way. :) Hugs to you and your DH.
It is especially hard to understand when you have children of your own and you are experiencing the JOYS of their new adventures. I look forward to seeing the "clapping" video. Too cute! :D
