Just wanted to post on here to let everyone know I had my baby! Ethan Thomas Gorny was born on August 27th and weighed 7lbs 8oz, 21 inches long. He has a full head of dark blonde hair and everyone says he looks like his mama :)

Yeah, I've been a bad blogger. This pregnancy really kicked my butt in the beginning but other than being ready to have this baby I'm feeling better now. Hopefully I'll even start updating the ole blog more.

Pregnancy News: I'm 36.5 weeks now so after Monday this baby can come at anytime and I won't mind one bit! My doctor was a little worried baby was breech so I had an ultrasound yesterday and all is well. Baby (its a boy!) is in the head down position, ready for take off! My most recent belly shot is 34 weeks, but I'll post it for you all to see the whale.

Its been awhile

I know its been awhile since I made a post but I have a pretty darn good excuse! We found out mid-December that we are expecting another baby! The newest addition to our family is set to arrive August 25, 2008.

I set up a guessing game and I'll give some background too

Caitlin was born 6 days late at 5:36am weighing 6lbs 12oz and 19 inches long
Austin was born 11 days early at 2:52pm weighing 6lbs 7oz and 19 1/2 inches long

both were normal deliveries, no c-sections.

Dad's X-Ray and a Freebie

My mom sent me my dad's xrays and yikes. I don't think I realized how large the nail really was. The metal plate with the scres in it is from when he broke his arm last year.

Halloween Pictures...at last!

OK, I would have had these up sooner but I loaned my camera to a friend and didnt get a chance to download them first. Here are my kids on Halloween! Caitlin was a Medieval Princess and Austin was a Vampire. The little girl in the black outfit is Caitlin's friend Amethyst who was a fallen fairy.

OK, now on to the true horrors! On Saturday my dad was at work (he does construction) and him and his partner were nailing some stuff with the nail gun, the partner was nailing and my dad was holding things in place. Well they got going a little too fast and my dad put his arm across right as his partner nailed and this is the result.

The nail went straight through the clasp of his watch and into the bone. The doctors are trying to pry it up with a crowbar there... that didnt work. They ended up stabalizing it with vice grips and hammering it out. Now I'm not really sure how that would work but it sounds yucky and painful to me. Dad is OK right now though, he is a tough guy.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I think that most people have somebody close to them that has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and if you don't, consider yourself lucky. Its rough. I have a friend who was diagnosed a few years ago. At the time she had 7 children and went in for a mastectomy where they removed one of her breasts. She has since gone on to have her 8th child (7th son) and is now pregnant with #9 a girl. She is a survivor, and like many, she continues to fight every day.

I am very pleased that this month Scraps for Charity is benefiting the Breast Cancer Foundation. Our kit is now for sale in each designers individual portion or as a mega. Please help support this cause and head on over there to get this great kit today.

New Computer at Last!

Yes its finally happened! On Friday the hubby and I went out and bought a new computer. The 6 year old ancient thing I had been working on has been replaced at last!!! I'm so excited! I got a Gateway 6000+ with a dual processor and upgraded to a 19 inch HD Monitor. I'm in heaven!! Photoshop runs like a dream.

I havent gotten any work done this month, its been nothing but visitors and going out all month. During the beginning of the month while my brother was here we went to Six Flags Great America, that was a blast.

Then we went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago. The food wasnt anything to write home about but the service and atmosphere were fun. I can't totally dis the food either, their chocolate chip cookies are to die for! Our waitress gave us a dozen on the house. Caitlin was running around being really cute, we convinced her to do that rock symbol thing with her hands and the whole tounge out thing for the waitress, totally adorable! For her efforts we bought her a pink Hard Rock Shirt that says "Rock Angel" on the front and has little angel wings on the back.

When my friend Andrea came into town we went to the Bristol Ren Faire. It was fun, we saw some shows that we missed last year and I got my hair done up. It was miserably hot that day though so I ended up with a headache, probably dehydration.

We went to the Blue Man Group in Chicago. I must say that was the funnest thing I've done since moving to this area three years ago. If you have a chance to go see them I totally recomend it. Their show is interactive and just all around fun and exciting! The theatre they preform in is completely done up in this cool industrial look, with pipes and tubes everywhere. They don't allow photos in the show and afterwards it was so crowded we didnt get our pictures with the Blue Men but it was still fun fun fun!

My house guests start clearing out next week and I'll finally have some computer time to get some designing done and really dig into my new computer. I'll miss my sister and my friend but it will be nice to have my house back!

Oh, I completely forgot to mention! I also got a dishwasher!!!! That has been a long time coming and desperately needed. The dishes just pile up here and with me being the only one doing them it seemed like a never ending chore. Now its fairly simple to keep them under control.

Caitlin starts kindergarten on Friday. She is really excited and has been asking me almost every day if she has school yet. The whole registration process in this area kinda sucks. It actually cost me $133 to get her into public school and would be an extra $90 if I wanted her to ride the school bus. I thought public schools were open to everyone with no charge unless you lost or trashed the books. I know that back in WA there are no fees to start school or ride the busses. Its just weird! How do the schools work where you are? I know the $133 is supposed to be for book rentals and supplies. I assume its because the schools werent seeing fees paid for destroyed books but as far as I know we don't get that money back even if our "rented" books come back in great condition at the end of the year. Another way to weasle out money if you ask me. I could be completely off base though, I don't know!

Well, thats it for me today, I hope to get some new stuff out to the world soon!

A Visit From my Brother

Oh man have I had a fun filled and exciting last few days! My little brother got some leave from the army and he used half of it to come to Chicago and see me! We had a ton of fun and Caitlin just loved having him around. He is so playful! Anyways, here are some pictures, I wish I would have gotten more but we were having too much fun to even think about it!

Photo Graphing Photoshop Action!

The last few days I've been doing the CRD Challenges on the DST boards and the last two LO's I did I added a cool graphing overlay to my photos. Well everyone seemed to love the look of it so I decided to turn it into an action! You can pick Photo-Graphing up at OAKS for 50% off through July 22nd!

Creating this thing was quite a learning experience. Its been a bit since I've posted so I suppose this is the classic "Bad Blogger" post. Life has just been super busy this month. Austin's first birthday party went well, he loved opening presents and playing with the toys he got. It was nice to have the family there for him.

I've done two LO's so far of that day and I also re-did a LO from last year of him at the 4th of July parade here. This is the LO I did sometime last year... Its not awful but I don't like it anymore.

Here is my remake. This reflects my style much better and I absolutely love Faith's new 4th Kit and her alpha brushes, so cute!

And here are the other two LO's that I did. I am so in love with this first one and the only reason it came about is because of my sister. She is staying the summer with me and I was showing her my digital stuff and she asked how to use a template. Of course I can show her better than just explaining so I popped open one of my newest templates (hint hint, you might want to check out my newest grab bag.....shhhhhhhhhhh) and Christina Renee's papers and dropped the red one on there and then I had a vision of what the LO could be! I couldnt stop, I had to keep adding papers to complete the LO!

This LO I did as part of my polka dot potato CT requirement. I really love this kit too though, its all about the 4th of July but then at the same time not. With the funky lime green and orange elements thrown in it just gives it that extra little pizzaz to make this kit different! Anyways, Austin got a wagan for his birthday and the box it came in completely fascinated him! Any time you were turn around he would be playing with that dang box! I mentioned earlier that my sister is staying for the summer. I have to say that I am really enjoying having her here. She helps me clean up, she watches the kids when I need to do something and she doesnt let Caitlin get away with not listening too me. At first Caitlin tried to tell me she would just go ask Aunt Lucy and she didnt have to listen to me but Lucy set her straight pretty quickly. I'm not sure exactly what is going on with my child but lately she has had such a bratty little attitude. She talks to me like she is the boss and tells me she doesnt have to listen to me. When I tell her no about something she whines and begs until I have to give her a time out. Its very frustrating and I hope she grows out of it quickly. Someone please tell me if this is normal 5 year old behaviour.

New Commercial Use Silk Flowers

I have released my first commercial use item, a pack of silk flowers, at Digi by Design. This set of Designer's Flowers includes 5, easy to recolor, frayed flowers. They are big enough that you can re-size them to whatever suits you. Hopefully there will be more designer resources to come.

New Challenges Everywhere!

We all know that the 1st of the month means the start of many new challenges and I just wanted to take a moment to point out a couple I have going on.

First, I just started hosting a new recipe swap challenge over at Miss Tiina's. You'll want to check this one out for some yummy desert recipes! And anyone who participates in the challenge there will be entered into a drawing to win a free product from my store at OAKS

And last, but certainly not least, my regular challenge over at DSD. I wasnt sure how much I would be online while my parents were in town so I asked someone to fill in over there for me but you'll definately want to check it out. In non-scrap related news. The banister my dad came to do is almost finished. When the pulled up the carpet to remove the old one they found beautiful hardwood floors! I knew they were under there but figured that they had to be in awful shape for anyone to cover them up but they really do look fantastic! My parents are leaving tomorrow and I'm a little sad, its been nice having them here.

The basement is still a mess and its going to be a ton of money to fix it but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Today is the service for my DH's cousin, I'm not looking forward to that but I do want to pay my respects.

And finally, my birthday is coming up next week. My mom asked yesterday what I wanted and I wasnt sure...all I could think of was maybe a new pair of jeans because I only have one pair I really like to wear. She told me she would love to get me a new laptop but thats not in their budget. It would be nice though huh?

Bad/Sad news time. First, I went down into my basement this morning to do some laundry and there was water everywhere! I woke up DH (who is working nights so he had only been asleep for 3 hours) and we started trying to figure out where it was coming from. We still don't know, and no one can come out and give us an estimate on fixing it until Saturday. Here is a pic...ignore the dark dank mess... I had piles of laundry seperated all over the floor.

Then later in the day DH's grandmother called to let us know that DH's cousin took his life. I'm not sure why but I do know that he left behind a wife and 3 small children. A three year old son and 5 month old twin daughters. I hate tragedies like these... It really makes you appreciate what you have. On top of all that my parents are set to arrive tomorrow...yikes!

A little cheer to add to all that drear too... Austin learned how to clap tonight. Its the cutest thing! I've got it on video but havent uploaded it yet. Hopefully next week I can show you all

Soccer and Stitches!

Today was Caitlin's first soccer game. She did ok, fell a lot and got really dramatic about it, like a little dirt on her knee was proof of a broken leg or something. I got some cute pictures though! Thats my girl in the pink shorts. I think I'll have to buy her a black pair so she matches the rest of the team lol

Button Stitch Freebie!

We all know that buttons look better when they are stitched to the page so its hard when we find totally cute buttons that arent threaded! I ran into that problem today so I've got a solution for you! I made a couple of stitches that should fit perfectly in your unthreaded buttons. These stitches are so versatile, you can use them in your buttons or line them up to form a row of stitching. I've included the two pink buttons in the download since they are in the preview. I hope you find these useful!

Glittered is a set of 6 cardboard flowers in some really great colors. Each flower has glitter all along the edge and the petals are dusted with glitter as well. For only $1.05, you can't really beat that.

The Little Dotted Bows pack has 20 bows in lots of colors! Its hard to see the details in the preview so here is a full size on one of them.

In other news, Caitlin has soccer practice today. Her last two practices and her first game have all been cancelled due to weather. Today the weather shows PM showers so we are keeping our fingers crossed for a practice.

Austin got his first pair of shoes last Friday. He is so funny when we put them on him, he acts like he has blocks of concrete on his feet and he can't move but they are so cute!! Check them out.

Then on Sunday he got his first haircut. It was getting a little long and shaggy in the front and around the ears so I gave in and let Randy take him in. I wanted to wait until after he turned one so I could get a nice lock of hair, I've settled for a little lock.

Challenges at The Daily Scrap

This month I started hosting two of the challenges over at The Daily Scrap. With each challenge you complete you get a posting gift by me!

The first challenge is the Holiday Challenge, this one is pretty self explanitory. You need to scrap a LO having to do with whatever holiday I pick that month. It could be anything from Halloween to President's Day but will always relate to the month we are in. It could also be a foriegn holiday, you just never know. Of course there is a little twist to it too. I'm never just gonna say scrap your Easter pictures, that would be too easy! So this month we are scrapping past Easter pictures. They can be from last year or 20 years ago, you just can't use the current year. For completing this challenge, posting your LO in the gallery at TDS and then posting you link back to the forums where I host the challenge you will recieve this!

Second Challenge I'm hosting is the Impromptu Challenge. This is a random theme each month. This month I'm doing Western! I want to see pictures ranging from "Cowboys & Indians" to Pony Rides. Meaning real or pretend. And for completing this one you get this!

Did you notice that the two posting bonuses coordinate? Yeah, its that way on purpose! Actually all of the posting bonuses for every challenge at TDS will coordinate each month so you'll want to complete them all so you end up with a huge kit by many designers! On to other things...Austin is cutting another tooth, now he has both of his bottom incisors. It was certainly a rough night last night. Poor guy has to be in pain with those teeth cutting. He was up crying off and on through out the whole night.

The invites went out yesterday for Caitlin's Pony Party. She still has no idea.

My husband has his computer up and running for me and I've got a trial version of Photoshop CS2 for now. I'm hoping my Photoshop 7 comes in the mail soon. I'm liking CS2 so far but its different from what I'm used to so it takes me a lot longer to get things done because I keep trying to do it the PS7 way. Well, I'm off to get the girl ready for school, hope you all have a great day!!!

Woe is me!

Just wanted to let you all know that on Tuesday my computer bit the big one! I turned off my computer Monday night and Tuesday morning it was gone. My husband hooked his old computer up for me but I lost photoshop. I'm litterally going crazy with boredom here. My kids are both still asleep so now is the perfect time to be scrapping or designing but nooooo. When I moved cross country I didnt bring any of my computer disks with me. So I'm having the photoshop cd mailed so I can get it installed on hubby's comp. If I'm lucky I'll get the disk early next week.

Lucky for you guys I was able to get a freebie done before the big crash. I was going to post it that night but I was too tired, yesterday I was busy catching up on everything I missed Tuesday so today you get your freebie!

Baby Teeth and Retro Swirls Freebie

The last few days have been rough here. Austin is cutting his very first tooth! My babies are late teethers. Caitlin was 10 1/2 months old when her first came in and Austin is 9 1/2 months old. If I put my finger in his mouth I can feel it, Its already broken the skin but hasnt come up yet. When I look I see where it has cut through the gums but still can't actually see the tooth. Hopefully I can get a picture of the little bugger once it becomes visible but he hates it when I try to open his mouth.

Caitlin has been on spring break this last week, I'm actually going to be happy when she goes back to school. She is so busy all the time!

My parents and my neice Elly are coming for a visit from Spokane, WA! I'm so excited! They havent seen our house yet since we moved here Feb 2006. My dad hasnt even been out to visit at all since I've moved to Indiana so I'm extra excited about that. I haven't told Caitlin they are coming yet because the moment I do thats all she will ask about. Its bad enought hat every single day she asks me if its her birthday yet (April 29th). My parents will be here April 27 - May 2 so they get to be here for her party. They have missed the last two. Elly is 3 1/2 and Caitlin just loves her to death so I know she is going to go nuts when she finds out she is coming for her birthday.

BIG NEWS!!

MY BABY STARTED WALKING! Thats right, real live little baby steps! We were all down in the living room, Randy had been home from work for about 30 minutes and Austin just stood up where he was and took 5 little steps all on his own! Of course the camera was no where near by so we didnt get any pictures of the actual even but we were all there and wow! He is only 9 months and 1 week old! Can you tell that I'm excited? We tried to get him to do it again later to get some pictures but he wouldnt do it for us. Here is what we ended up with. He kept just dropping to the ground.

Its been awhile since I've posted. I'm being a naughty blogger! LOL. A few updates...

My baby boy is 9 months old now and the other day he started standing up on his own for a few seconds at a time. He is getting so big, I just know he is going to start walking soon. Caitlin was 10 1/2 months old when she started. No luck yet on me getting pregnant again, I'm getting a little bit frustrated because its usually pretty easy for me and everyone else around me seems to be popping up pregnant. I'm happy for them but what about me?

OK, enough whining and on to the freebie! I was messing around this morning and made this little Springtime kit. I don't really have the motivation to do anything else with it because I really want to be working on a boy kit so I'm giving this away to you all! YAY hahaha.

Ready for family updates?

On Tuesday we took Austin to the Dr because he had a really bad cough. They thought he might have RSV or pneumonia so we were sent right away to get some chest x-rays. Randy and I had to pin the poor baby down to the table so they could get the pictures and the whole time he is screaming. I felt so bad! They put a rush on the x-rays so we went straight back to the Drs office were she reviewed them and thankfully his x-rays were clear. She said he has a viral infection so he is on antibiotics and breathing treatments. He does not appreciate having the mask on for the treatments either. The boy does not like things touching his face lol. We take him back Friday for a followup to make sure its clearing and then next Friday is his 9 month appt.

Yesterday I had two teeth pulled, one was an impacted wisdom tooth. Today I'm sore and swollen and constantly sick to my stomach because of the meds. Vicodin combined with Penicillin does not do good things to me. I have a rather graphic story of me getting sick in the mall today but I'll spare you guys those details. Randy went to the dentist today and has scheduled to get his wisdom teeth pulled too.

Not much really going on over here. I have a cold that just won't go away, my husband hasn't been getting as much overtime so I haven't been on the computer as much but I haven't disappeared. Thanks for checking on me Jessie!

Surgery Update!

Wow, I have a lot of people sending me healing thoughts and well wishes after my surgery. You guys are so nice! You keep asking how I'm doing so this is it! I'm fantastic! I barely even feel like I had surgery. The itching has stopped since I peeled off most of the tape. I really think I was allergic to it or something. I only left a few pieces on the bigger incisions because I'm a weirdo. I'm the type of person who gets my blood drawn and then that arm is dead to me for the rest of the day. I can't take off the bandage til the next day because I need the hole to close or I fear I'll start spurting blood everywhere! So, the tape on the BIG incisions stays or my guts will bust open. Told you I was a weirdo LOL!

What do you mean I'm not 4 Wheel Drive?

My handsome little man high centered himself in the most unusual place, just thought I would share. Poor guy. There is usually something on the bottom part of that table where he is stuck.

P.S. There is a safety cover on that outlet now, don't knw how I missed putting one there but when I DL the pictures and saw it I ran straight over and popped one in.

Its an artsy style or time period. They actually use the word in Disney's Beauty and the Beast when Cogsworth and Lumiere are showing Belle around the castle. Cogsworth says "As you can see, the psuedo-facade was stripped away to reveal a minimalist rococo design. Note the unusual inversely vaulted ceilings. This is yet another example of the late neoclassic Baroque period. And, as I always say, "if it's not Baroque, don't fix it!" " he pronounces it Ba-roke. Go ahead and do a google image search for Baroque, I think its very fitting. HELP!

OK, first off I'm feeling great and healing nicely. I just itch like crazy!! I'm lucky I still have tape over my incisions and all I can do is scratch over the top of that. My other problem is every once in awhile if I turn too quickly or in the wrong way it feels like the top center incision is ripping open. It isnt really, it just burns. All right, enough surgery stuff and on to my REAL dilema.

I've finished the paper pack for next freebie but the name I had in my mind for it doesnt work at all now and I can't think of one that suits it so I need your help. Post a comment with your name suggestions and I'll choose one tomorrow night and release the paperpack. Of course everyone gets this kit but I'll give the person who comes up with a name an exclusive add on bonus to it. Here is the preview, hope you guys have better luck than I did naming it. Update! YAY

Just wanted to post a quick update for you all. I really appreciate all the well wishes and concern, you guys are so sweet! I'm doing good, I actually slept on my side a little bit last night instead of flat on my back. On Monday the Dr. removed my bandages and now I just have pieces of tape over the incisions. I leave them there until they fall off on their own and then I guess I'm just a brand new person lol.

Surgery!

Well, its all done and over with. Finally! The nurses had some problems getting the IV into my tiny veins so I've got stick marks on both hands and it hurt like HECK! I've got a pretty high tolerance for pain too. After the IV was in they put these massage things on my legs to keep the blood flowing then brought Randy back to see me for a little bit before taking me back into the operating room. Once in the OR they switched me to the table, put my arms straight out and put something in my IV to "relax" me. It made my hand very cold then the room started spinning and I don't remember anything else. I know after it was all over and I was coming out from sedation I could hear one of the nurses telling me it was all over and I did great. Then I just started freaking out. I wanted up off the table, I wanted to sit up and roll over but they wouldn't let me. I fought with them and they strapped me down and knocked me out again. The next thing I knew I was in recovery. I have no idea why I fought them or why I wanted to sit up. It was weird, like being in a dream world. I kept apologizing to the nurses and they just said I did great. No one talked about what happened when I first came out of sedation so I'm not even sure if it was real. It doesn't seem like me at all.

I got home at 3pm and went straight to sleep. Today I feel great. A little sore and my shoulder keeps hurting but still, that's not bad for just having part of my guts removed right? Here is a picture of my lovely iodine, bandage covered, tubby tummy.

LOTS of News

Tomorrow is the day, 11am I go in for my surgury. I've never had surgury before so as the day gets closer I get more and more nervous. I don't like needles, I don't like the idea of being all cut up! I keep telling myself to be brave but I can picture it in my mind. There I am, sitting in the Doctors office and they call my name but I just sit there. They keep calling my name and my husband is next to me saying "Jess, that's you" but I just sit there staring straight ahead not wanting to go in. Am I just being a big baby about this? I mean I have gone through natural childbirth for goodness sakes! Either way, I'm scared and really not looking forward to it.

For the next bit of news I'm now on several different Creative Teams. I really enjoy being on a CT because it gives me more motivation to get my LO's done and I really need that. The new CT's were official on the first of the year. MissTiina.com (she has two beautiful new baby kits up in her store, one for girls and one for boys) and Digiscrapdivas.com. I'm excited to be joining both teams. There is one more to be announced soon.
